Jani Halenius Wins Another Trophy for Finland at OlyBet Showdown Tallinn Spring Mix

It was the calm before the storm at the OlyBet Showdown Tallinn Spring Mix at Olympic Park Casino, focusing primarily on the two-day Event 8: €250 NLH Deepstack. While 32 players were busy bagging up stacks in that event led by Greece’s Enea Subashi, others battled it out with more cards at their disposal in the only event awarded a trophy on Monday in Event #10: €150 PLO 4&5 Cards.

Jani Halenius continued the Finnish trend of winning hardware this festival, becoming the fifth player from Finland out of the first six events after defeating Andrei Harlanov-Voogla heads-up to deny Estonia its first title.

Check out the results from the third day of the 2024 OlyBet Showdown Tallinn Spring Mix at Olympic Park Casino.

Jani Halenius Wins the €150 PLO 4&5 Cards

Jani

Finland’s Jani Halenius showcased a runner-up performance in the €250 HORSE event on Sunday. He one-upped himself on Monday evening and won the trophy in the €150 PLO 4&5 Cards during a relatively quick battle of 4 ½ hours.

The event attracted 20 entries with the top four players earning a share of the €2,496 prize pool.

This makes it two players who are one spot away from a podium trifecta with Halenius needing a Bronze finish to have a first, second, and third place in the same festival while fellow Finn Sami Pullainen is a win away from the same feat. While there would be extra bragging rights if either player can pull this off, no extra prize is awarded for this accomplishment.

Enea Subashi Leads €250 NLH Deepstack

The €250 NLH Deepstack attracted 68 runners on its opening day with still many more to come with late registration open for the first two blind levels of the final day when the action resumes on Tuesday, May 14 at 12 p.m.

Greece’s Enea Subashi found himself in a family spot as the overnight chip leader of the 68 survivors after parlaying his 30,000 opening stack into 181,500 in chips. Subashi was also found himself in the same spot during the first multi-way event of the festival when he was the chip leader after Day 1 in the €150 Mystery Bounty only to settle for third place.

While he is hoping for a better performance on Tuesday, he has plenty of competition that might say otherwise with Juhana Konttinen, Yanis Mehdi Sahli, Risto Ponnio, and Mark Passikoski all in the top five.

France’s Jimmy Dewerdt is priming himself for his second trophy of the festival. He won the previously mentioned Mystery Bounty and found himself in the top 10 in the Deepstack alongside Egor Procop, Viktor Snotko, Virgo Laansoo, and the charismatic Phil Gross.
